A scrambling, large shrub or small tree with large, glossy leaves and fig-like, reddish fruit with a lemon scent that break open when ripe to reveal their reddish white, lemon scented flesh.
Native to rain and cloud forests from low elevations to 2600 m in the Andes, where it is endangered due to habitat destruction.
Germination: Soak seeds for 3 days in water. Germination: Sow seeds in sowing mix + vermiculite or perlite. Temperature:20-25 C or 69-77 F Keep constantly moist, not wet. Germination takes 1 -2 months.
