1 Package of 25 Seeds
A giant lily native from the Himalayas to northern Burma and China that produces a stalk every spring to eventually more than 3 m 10 ft. tall from an underground bulb.
The leaves are large and heart-shaped or oval. After 6 or more years from seed, huge, most magnificently scented white flowers appear in a terminal inflorescence. After flowering, the main bulb dies but produces several offshoots that will flower after 3 to 4 years.
It will grow without much protection in USDA zones 8 to 9 but can also be grown in colder climates with heavy mulching to keep the ground frost free.
Germination: Cold stratify in moist sowing mix for 6 weeks. Then cover slightly with substrate: coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite. Keep bright and constantly moist but not wet.
