A tiny, Aloe-like succulent native to the southern Cape Province of South Africa with very thick, short leaves that are distichously arranged.
The small inflorescence holds only a few reddish, nodding flowers.
Gasteria nitida var. armstrongii is hardy to USDA Zone 9 and very tolerant of severe drought.
Germination:Sow in a sandy, well-drained potting soil using standard seed trays. Cover with a thin layer of sand (1-2 mm), place in a warm, shady position and keep moist. Germination occurs within 3 weeks.
