A rare and gorgeous deciduous perennial up to about 3 m tall, native to Oaxaca, Mexico.
It develops very large tubers that support arching herbaceous stems, tripinnate leaves and produces stunning, very large but delicate, bell shaped, silky, nodding white flowers with pink-purple centers.
It prefers mild climates with no extreme temperatures. In cultivation, Dahlia campanulata prefers moist, well-drained soils.
Germination: Sow seeds 1cm in coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite. Cold stratify for 4 weeks. Then keep bright and constantly moist but not wet at 22-25°C.
