This giant tree that can grow to over 90 m tall produces a large straight trunk with rough, stringy bark, relatively broad leaves and white flowers.
Eucalyptus obliqua is widely distributed in humid forests from southeastern Queensland to 1500 m to southeastern Australia and Tasmania and is also native to the mountains of Timor in the Lesser Sunda Islands.
It is an important timber tree and often sold under the name Tasmanian Oak, referring to its fairly hard and heavy wood, that is not very durable, however. Germination: Cover seeds only slightly with substrate: coir or sowing mix + perlite. Keep bright and constantly moist but not wet.
