A spreading shrub, rarely more than 2 m tall, with elliptic, conspicuosly veined, glossy green leaves and large, terminal clusters of small, purplish pink flowers in late summer.
Oxyspora paniculata is native to mixed forests along stream banks and in moist valleys in the Himalayas from Nepal to southwestern China between 500 and 2000 m.
In cultivation it is best adapted to warm temperate and many tropical climates. Germination: Sow 1cm in coir or sowing mix + perlite. Keep bright and constantly moist but not wet.
