A dwarf succulent native to South Africas Northern and Western Cape Provinces to over 1000 m that forms a large mat of slender shoots that hold green to pale blue, stiffly upright, finger-like leaves and masses of attractive coppery red flowers in summer.
In cultivation it does best in drier, warm temperate climates in USDA Zones 9 and above. Germination: Cover seeds only slightly with cacti soil or sowing mix + sand or perlite. Keep bright and constantly moist but not wet. Germination takes 3-6 weeks.
