An epiphytic Astelia native to the mountains of New Caledonia with strap-like, white-edged, glossy green leaves and a showy white flower stalk.
It can be grown on the branches of large trees but will also adapt to being planted in the garden in a well drained spot. It likes a humid, warm temperate or tropical climate. Germination: Sow 1cm in coir or sowing mix + perlite. Keep bright and constantly moist but not wet.
